Road rules in Romania:
1. Minimum driving age is 18
and minimum age to rent a car is 21.
2. Driving is on the right
side of the road.
3. US and Canadian driving
licenses are valid in Romania.
4. Seat belts compulsory for
front seat passengers.
5. Children under 12 years of
age are not allowed in the front seat.
6. All roads have speed limits
distinctly outlined on signboards by the side of the road.
7. Use of mobile phones while
driving is not allowed.
8. Pedestrians have priority
at all times at crossings without traffic lights.
9. Fines apply for driving
under the influence of alcohol and is considered a criminal offense..
